Dacor cooktop glass replacement
Cracked or chipped glass on an induction surface is not cosmetic: the glass is part of the appliance's insulation and its seal against everything spilled on it, and a crack lets liquid reach the electronics beneath. On a frameless surface bonded into a stone worktop the replacement is careful work — the old panel comes out without damaging the stone, and the new one is bonded and sealed so the edge is as clean as it was. It is mostly a parts cost rather than a labor one, and we say so plainly when the number surprises people.

How this visit actually goes
The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

01
Confirm the panel is available first
There is no point removing a cooktop for a part that is not made. On older surfaces this is the first call we make.
-
02
Remove without damaging the worktop
Bond cut rather than levered. The stone is worth more than the appliance in many of these kitchens.
-
03
Bond, seal and test every zone
Then a full run across all zones before we leave, because a panel is also a set of connections.

Induction and gas at 30 and 36 inches · rangetops at 36 and 48 Dacor cooktop repair in Miami
Two families under one heading. The cooktops are induction or gas at 30 and 36 inches — the induction ones frameless black glass with a display in the surface, the gas ones sealed burners on stainless. The rangetops are the professional half: 36 and 48 inches, six sealed brass burners built to simmer as well as sear, illuminated knobs, and a griddle and wok ring that sit in place of the grates. They are different machines to work on. A glass induction surface is an electronics repair; a rangetop is burners, gas and heavy brass, and the two rarely fail for the same reason.

About Dacor cooktop glass replacement
Mostly the panel, and we say so
Cracked or chipped glass on an induction surface is not cosmetic: the glass is part of the insulation and the seal, and a crack lets liquid into the drives beneath. On a frameless surface bonded into a stone worktop the replacement is careful work at both ends — the old panel comes out without damaging the stone, and the new one is bonded and sealed so the edge is as clean as it was. The figure is mostly the part, which surprises people, and the first call we make is whether the part still exists.

Questions about Dacor cooktop glass replacement
Can it be used with a crack in it?
Not safely for long. Beyond the risk of the crack spreading under thermal cycling, anything spilled runs straight into the electronics.
Is the glass available for older cooktops?
Not always, and that is established before anything is removed. There is no sense taking a cooktop out of a worktop for a panel that is no longer made.
