Dacor burner clicks but will not light
In this climate the two ordinary causes are salt air on the igniter and a cap that went back slightly wrong after a clean — which is why so many of these calls date from the week the hob was scrubbed. The professional burners on the rangetops complicate it pleasantly: they are built to relight themselves after a draft or a boil-over, so a burner that keeps going out may be that system rather than the burner. What to do in the next ten minutes
Lift the cap and the head off the burner that will not light and check the ports are clear and the cap is seated flat on its locating pins. Look at whether the other burners light normally. If the hob was cleaned recently, let everything dry completely — water under a cap will stop ignition for hours. Do not keep clicking a burner that smells of gas.
Why the deep clean is so often the trigger
Caps and heads come off, get washed, and go back a fraction out of position or still damp. The hob then behaves badly for a day or permanently, depending on which of the two it was. It is worth saying because it turns an alarming symptom into a five-minute correction that nobody needs to pay for.
What the pro burners add
The sealed brass burners on the rangetops carry a system that relights them after a flame-out. A burner that goes out and comes back is that working. A burner that goes out and stays out, on a hob with that system, is a different problem from the same symptom on an ordinary cooktop.

Can I light it with a match meanwhile?
