Symptom
Dacor condensation on the wine column glass
The door of a wine column is equipment in itself: argon-filled triple glazing designed to keep heat and ultraviolet light out of the cabinet. Its outer pane should sit near room temperature even in a Miami August. When that pane is cold to the touch and running with condensation, the cavity has lost its fill or the door is no longer sealing — and either way the cabinet is now fighting the room. It will lose slowly, expensively and out of sight, which is why this is worth a call earlier than it feels like it deserves.

Three ordinary causes
What this usually turns out to be
Cheapest and commonest first, which is also the order we check them in. They sit hundreds of dollars apart, and only the unit settles which one is yours.
-
The glazing cavity has failed
Triple glazing with an argon fill works because the cavity is sealed. Once it is not, the outer pane runs at cabinet temperature and the room condenses on it exactly as it would on a cold window.

The gasket is no longer in contact
A heavy glass door settles on its hinges over the years, and the seal lifts along one edge first. That edge then condenses continuously and the compressor runs to make up the loss.

A rack is holding the door open
The smallest and cheapest version of this. A rack half an inch proud, or a bottle sitting forward, keeps the door from closing home and produces every symptom of a failed seal.

01
Compare the glass with the room by hand
Cold glass is diagnostic. Glass at room temperature with damp on it is a humidity question, not a problem.
-
02
Paper-test the whole perimeter
Even drag all the way round, or a slack edge. The slack edge is the answer.
-
03
Push every rack fully home
It costs nothing and it resolves a fair share of these calls outright.

What people describe when they call
A shortcut
Narrow it down before anybody arrives
A description of the behaviour leaves a few possible causes. A code names the subsystem before anybody opens anything, which is why it is worth photographing before it clears.
If there is no code at all
The data plate is inside the cabinet, upper left wall or behind the grille. All models

About Dacor condensation on the wine column glass
What to do in the next ten minutes
Put a hand flat on the outer glass and compare it with the room. Look along the gasket for a gap, and run a slip of paper round the perimeter to feel for even drag. Check that every rack is fully home and that no bottle is proud of a shelf. Note whether the condensation is across the whole pane or only at one edge — an edge points at the seal, the whole pane at the cavity.
Why this climate makes it worse
An open-plan Miami kitchen sits at a humidity a wine cabinet in a conditioned cellar never sees. A door that would be marginal elsewhere is visibly wet here, and a cabinet fighting that difference runs its compressor far more than the specification assumes. The problem is the door; the cost lands on the refrigeration.
What we check before quoting a door
A door is the expensive answer and the racks are the cheap one, so the racks are checked first. After that the hinges, because a glass door that has settled will defeat a brand-new gasket within a season. Only when the geometry is right does the glazing itself become the conversation.

Questions about Dacor condensation on the wine column glass
Can I just wipe it and carry on?
For a while, yes — nothing is in danger today. But the cabinet is running harder than it should to hold its zones, and that is the part that eventually becomes expensive.
Would a dehumidifier fix it?
It would reduce the symptom and leave the cause. If the outer pane is genuinely cold, the door is failing and the room is not the problem.
