# Dacor oven not heating

### A short list of parts, separated by measurement

An element, a sensor reading wrong, a relay that no longer closes, or a control that has stopped asking. Which one it is takes two measurements rather than an opinion, and replacing parts in order of price rather than in order of evidence is what makes this repair expensive elsewhere. On this make there is a question before all of that: a Classic ERC oven and a current one report different codes for related problems, and F1, F2 and F3 mean different things on an older oven and an older range.

Establish the era before the code

Plate first. Reading a current code table to a pre-2016 oven produces confident nonsense.

Measure the element and the sensor

Continuity under load, and the sensor's resistance against a known temperature. Two numbers settle most of these calls.

Watch a full preheat

Rise rate and overshoot. An oven that heats and cannot hold is a different repair from one that never heats.

### Both cavities of my double oven have stopped.

That usually points upstream of both — the supply or a shared board — rather than two failures on one evening. One cavity out keeps the repair on one side of a heavy cabinet.

### The oven heats but not to the right temperature.

That is a different problem from not heating, and it is usually the sensor. An oven thirty degrees out passes every self-test it can perform, because it believes its own reading.
