### Fitting an appliance designed to disappear

Panel-ready columns, French doors that take cabinet fronts, wall ovens in tall units cut to a size, hood liners hidden inside somebody else's millwork, a rangetop dropping into a worktop that has to be right before delivery. The work is carpentry as much as connection, and the expensive mistakes are all made before the appliance arrives: an opening a quarter inch out, a ventilation path nobody left, services emerging where the last machine wanted them. We measure first and deliver second, in that order.

What this involves

The opening is measured before the appliance is delivered, not on the day

Panels, trim kits and handles fitted so the doors sit square and stay square

Air path, water feed and power checked as part of the fit, not as an extra

Measure and check the opening

Width, depth, square, and where the services actually emerge. On built-in refrigeration the ventilation path is part of the specification and not a suggestion — a column trimmed in without it will run hard for the rest of its life.

Fit, level and hang

Leveling first, then the panel and its hardware. A panel-ready door carries real weight, and hinges set on an unlevel cabinet show it within weeks as a door that no longer seals.

Connect, run and prove

Water, drain, gas or power as the appliance needs, then a full cycle before we leave. The proof is the appliance running in front of you, not a signature on a sheet.

### Can you install an appliance I bought elsewhere?

Yes. What we ask for is the model and the opening dimensions before the delivery date, because on built-in equipment those two facts decide whether the day goes smoothly or becomes a carpentry job.

### Do you fit the cabinet panel and the handle?

Yes, and hanging them square is most of the work on a panel-ready door. A front hung on an unlevel cabinet shows within weeks as a door that no longer seals.
