# Dacor control board repair

### Two generations of board behind one badge

The board is the part most often blamed and least often at problem, so most of this job is the work that rules it in: a sensor out of range, a chafed harness, a relay that has welded, a supply that sags under load. Each imitates a dead board and each costs a fraction of one. What is particular to this make is that a correct diagnosis can still buy the wrong part, because the pre-2016 Dacor boards and the Samsung-platform boards that replaced them do not share part numbers and a supplier handed the wrong generation will sell it happily.

Rule out everything cheaper

A sensor out of range, a chafed harness, a relay that has welded, a supply that sags under load. Each of those imitates a dead board and each costs a fraction of one.

Identify the generation from the plate

Pre-2016 or Samsung-era. This is the step that stops a correct diagnosis becoming a wrong part, and on this make it is not optional.

Replace, or say plainly that it cannot be

Current boards are an ordinary supply. Where a legacy board is genuinely no longer made, we tell you before the visit and not after — a repair that ends in a shrug is worse than a repair declined.

### How do I know which board my appliance takes?

The model and serial settle it. As a rough guide, DOP, DOB, DRR, DRZ and DDW numbers are the current platform; ER30D, EDW, IDW and CM24 are from before the acquisition.

### Are legacy boards still available?

Some are and some are not, and we check before quoting labor rather than after. Where a board is genuinely no longer made we say so, because a repair that ends in a shrug is worse than one declined honestly.
