# Dacor legacy control diagnosis cost

### Why this figure is a from

Charged above a standard diagnostic because the documentation work is real: the right table for the right generation, read against a board that is no longer made, and an honest answer about parts before any labor is booked.

### What we will not do

We do not quote a repair over the telephone from a description, and we do not publish a final price anywhere on this site. Both are the same rule. On this badge there is a second reason: almost everything this make sells is fitted into something — a column in a trim kit, a wall oven in a tall unit, a hood liner inside somebody else’s millwork — and until the installation has been seen, half the estimate is missing. There is a third as well. This make changed hands in 2016, and an appliance from before that is a different repair with a different parts channel from one built after. We would rather establish both than guess at a number.

What moves this figure

from $125, and the three things that move it

Access and the era are quoted separately — both change the hour before the part does

Confirmed on site in writing, and we say when a repair is not worth doing

Which table applies

Classic ERC, ER-series or EDW and IDW. They overlap on the strings and disagree on the meanings, and using the wrong one produces a confident wrong answer.

Whether the code is documented at all

Where the make published a meaning we give it. Where it did not, we say so rather than inventing one, and the page for that problem is a symptom page.

What is still available

The part of this visit that decides everything after it. An obsolete board is said out loud before the customer has paid for hope.

Why this figure is a from

Charged above a standard diagnostic because the documentation work is real: the right table for the right generation, read against a board that is no longer made, and an honest answer about parts before any labor is booked.

What we will not do

We do not quote a repair over the telephone from a description, and we do not publish a final price anywhere on this site. Both are the same rule. On this badge there is a second reason: almost everything this make sells is fitted into something — a column in a trim kit, a wall oven in a tall unit, a hood liner inside somebody else’s millwork — and until the installation has been seen, half the estimate is missing. There is a third as well. This make changed hands in 2016, and an appliance from before that is a different repair with a different parts channel from one built after. We would rather establish both than guess at a number.

### Why is it a from and not a price?

Because the same job is not the same work on two machines. On this badge there are two large variables before the part is even named: whether the appliance is captured by cabinetry, and which side of 2016 it was built. Either can change the hour, and the second can change the part number entirely. The exact cost is confirmed on site, in writing, before anything is opened.

### Is the diagnostic on top of this?

The diagnostic is from $95 and it is credited toward the repair when you go ahead. Where the answer is that the machine is not worth fixing — or that a part for a discontinued platform is genuinely no longer made — you have paid for the answer and not for a part.
